Welcoming LGBTQ

International Day of Climate Action

Live Oak UU Fellowship adults and young people observed International Day of Climate Action 2009 by joining a diverse and multi-age group of people who created a “necklace” on the top of our local natural treasure, Mt. Diablo. Each person was a “bead” and was connected with colored fabric to form a 3600 foot necklace on the summit trail. A helicopter circling the mountain took photos of the group. A photo was then submitted to appear along with the many inspiring photos of activists from around the world at www.350.org. Many thanks to Carol Thornton for getting Live Oak involved in this action.
